Not for any propaganda against Govt; Ambani

Stating that it was committed to upholding the dignity of the legal system in the country, the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group has said there was no question of carrying on any propaganda against the Government or providing any public misinformation.

Noting that it had not made any comments on matters that were sub-judice, Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group said it had only stated some facts relating to certain actions of the Petroleum Ministry in public and national interest.

The group made this clarification in a statement in response to the government clarification on the advertisement campaign mounted by shareholders of the group. The group noted that it was unfortunate that the Petroleum Ministry had not given any response in respect of the large number of issues pointed out. This only clearly demonstrated its bias and partisan approach of favouring Reliance Industries Limited and enabling it to wriggle out of binding contractual commitments with NTPC and RNRL.

In the newspaper advertisements, all facts had been clearly stated on behalf of the shareholders of Reliance ADA Group. The Centre had asked RIL and R-ADAG group to observe restraint in the matter of projection of facts as well as inferences as the matter was sub judice.

Terming the developments on the prolonged gas row as unfortunate, the government had made it clear that it would come up with clarification to correct the ''ongoing propaganda against the Government in matters, some of which are sub-judice in Courts.''
